The results are improved durability, enhanced stable mechanical properties and aesthetics, and reduced movement such as cupping, checking, opening of joints and premature failure of coatings.

Rhino Wood is not identified as a food source by wood destroying insects. Rhino Wood is the environmental, social and economical solution to the long-term future of wood and its application in our world. Diminishing rain forests means hard, exotic woods have become costly and limited in supply. Yet our demand for wood is only increasing.

Continued development of sustainable forests is a solution that allows us to renew this precious resource. However, the soft woods that these forests yield, lack the physical properties that provide the strength and durability of hard woods. To continue growing, building and manufacturing far into our future, we need the next generation of wood that is not only durable, but also sustainable. Rhino Wood is a sustainable wood that, through a specialised treatment process, has the dimensional stability and physical properties of a hard wood, making it a far superior product to its original form.

Rhino Wood is strong, durable and maintains its appearance even in the harshest of outdoor environments, without maintenance or any harmful chemicals added. Our wood is tested and certified, and our controlled treatment process ensures durability and a stable wood composition that has applications ranging from simple decking to vast commercial structures.

Zero-toxicity makes Rhino Wood unique to other treated timber products that use oils and dangerous chemicals alien to the wood. Being sourced from sustainable forests, our wood leaves plastics, steel and concrete commonly used as building materials in yesterday's era.

Rhino Wood is real wood for people uncompromising on quality, but who care about the impact they have on the environment. By using Rhino Wood you're building tomorrow's cities, growing sustainable plantations and protecting our rain forests for future generations. Rhino Wood: What is Rhino Wood? Why do we use Rhino Wood? The Ultra System is the perfect product for deck owners who want to reduce yearly maintenance and cleaning.

UltraMean2 is a non-toxic peroxide based cleaner that works to break up and remove the mold and grime from the decking while delivering a deep clean without harsh chemicals that can damage the deck or the surrounding plants. Once the deck is clean, apply UltraBan. See application instructions below. Recommended by The 1 composite decking manufacturer as an eco-friendly alternative to Chlorine Bleach deck cleaners.

Why is mold growing on your deck? Mold only needs a few requirements to grow, water, warm temperatures and organic food source and if conditions are favorable, the mold will feed on the wood inside your deck. Much like a plant, mold will root into a surface. The porous nature of composite decking provides the perfect hiding place for mold to germinate and grow.

Once mold has begun to root and feed on the wood fibers inside the deck, the plastics exposed to the mold will absorb the green moldy color and become stained. If this happens and is left untreated, it can become very hard to remove. If your composite decking is showing signs of mold growth, it should be cleaned A.Below you will find categories of V-Ray materials.

The library will ship in place of the small library that currently shows up when you add a new material in V5, and will include something like materials.

Please download it and try it out. Please note that it will only work properly with the Rhino WIP we released last night, so make sure you have an up-to-date Rhino WIP and that you have restarted after installation. This will hopefully ensure the material previews work correctly inside Windows Explorer and the Library panel and the file open dialog.

The materials are all real-world scale, and they should drop onto real-world-scale objects and work without any modification or fuss. Use the material types for simple, non textured materials, and the library for photographic texture materials.

To install, just unzip the file onto your desktop. You can drag and drop materials right from the Windows Explorer folder view onto Rhino objects or into the Material Editor. Having the new library in place will just confuse the installer. Sounds great! The error number is In any case I had a laugh when directed to the page:.

For materials to come in without too much fussing around, it seems this works for a file starting in meters, but for instance if I have an inch file and I insert an oak floor material, it does not come in at all close to a standard I would expect 2.

Also, some mappings come in rotated when compared to similar materials. I think the general idea of the folder structure is good, but I find a few things a bit odd, mostly in the Architectural folder.

Rhino Wood:

For instance:. Again, this is only after a bit of playing with it, so it may take a bit to better articulate a folder structure I would prefer, but as it is I find the Architectural folder a bit unsettling, but the others seem OK to me.

I do have a problem with file naming.

Awakened tools tinkers

I do like the idea of a comprehensive material library that drops in all nice though Kudos on the work undertaken so far. To add to what Sam already said, I think there should be a Maritime category that include various types of sailcloth. I second the call for a wider collection of machinery and vehicle finishes.

How handy would it be for the interface between designers and CAE if the material spec also included elastic and thermal characteristics. Probably Rhino would never use them but it would be a really great place to manage the data for the various Rhino objects so it could be easily picked off by downstream tools.

Probably best designed to have a few very commonly used additional data fields and then be easily extensible to include anything else a user might like. The textures are named so they can be parsed. Not fiddling around with texture files.I turned off the light representing the Sun so that we could focus better on the quality of materials.

For now, all objects in Rhino are rendered in a default light gray material.

We will notice that all fields in Material column are empty, which means no Layer have been assigned any material yet hence, the default rhino material that we see now.

First what we want to do is change material name 1call it Marble. Textures or texture maps, or maps are the images we put on the 3d models so that they appear realistic. Textures are always frontal viewswithout perspective, of a surface that has that material applied.

An example of the texture we will use for this marble view, is the image I took from one of the photos of the actual pavillion, and then worked on it to remove any perspective :. You will find hundreds of textures in the collection of images I distributed to you in class via USB. Also you should always be searching for better textures online, as well as take your own photos to make textures.

Color Diffuse texture is the basic texture of a material, the one that gives it a color or a color pattern.

Cool, so now that we assigned the Color texture to our material, we should see this texture on our wall. Awesome… Wait… What? Why does this look so distorted?!?! We will use a technique called UVW Mapping for this.

UVW mapping is one of the most important things that you always need to do to your models whenever they use a texture. They all use the same texture see belowbut the way that texture is applied to the wall greatly affects its realism.

V-Ray Materials Library

This is the texture:. This would give illusion that our wall is made of brick, because it will have an image of bricks projected on it from all 6 sizes. This is how Box Mapping works. So what we need to do is define the size of that UVW Box width, length, height and its position, in order to make our map image fit neatly on our object. If we look at the photo, we see that basically 2 tiles horizontally almost covers entire pool but not quite sowhile 3 tiles vertically is exactly the height of the wall.

I highlighted that in yellow. However, Enscape also comes with its own Material Editor currently SketchUp and Rhino 6 only that, in addition to the native Rhino Material Editor, extends the range of what is possible in terms of materials and textures.

We will cover the Enscape Material Editor first, and then how Enscape also works with the native Rhino Material Editor for those users who run Rhino 5, as the Enscape Material Editor is not available for Rhino 5 users. If you open the Material Editor with an empty project file, the Enscape Material Editor will look like this:. The Material Editor window will always stay on top, meaning all functions in the Rhino UI will temporarily become inaccessible, although you will still be able to work in the Enscape window.

Location of the Enscape Materials button in the Enscape toolbar. You will now see the new material appear in the Enscape native Material Editor, where you can start to edit the material to be how you want it. If you want to rename the material, then you have to go back to the material editor in Rhino and rename it there, which will update the material in the Enscape Material Editor. Now we have created our first material which is now ready for editing in the Enscape Material Editor.

So, start with a blank empty scene in Rhino, place a cube or any other object into your scene and then make sure it is selected. Open the Rhino Properties panel and then select the Material option. The Enscape Material Editor also has a search facility to help find materials in projects that have many materials.

Default Grass Water Foliage Clearcoat. Enscape will use the default UV mapping information Rhino provides. Bump maps, again, can be any black and white 2D images. Bump maps can make for incredible surface detail and noise, without having to use a lot of geometry or modeling. You can use this feature for noise on concrete surfaces, wood, or even full reliefs! This can go a long way in convincing the viewer that they are looking at a realistic picture.

Just select an image file using the — button. Negative values will invert the effect, causing dark areas to stick out and bright areas to be pushed in. The Grass type material, as seen in the Enscape Material Editor, looks almost the same as the Default type. You can find these keywords covered here. The water texture will animate when you move around in Enscape and, like grass, has several keyword variations.

Control the water movement. Change the speed and the direction your water is flowing to simulate e.
